The discovery of the neighborhoods of Jean Moulin and Jean Bouin, and the two modern housing projects of the same name in the municipality of Gagny aroused a multitude of questions related to those spaces with unexploited potential but not appropriated by the local population.
After a detailed technical and sensitive site analysis, we have developed a series of interventions, in order to reveal the potential of the East side of Gagny, in line with the wishes of the inhabitants, associations and local politicians.
Create – Connect – Transform
Those are the axis of development in order to increase the attractiveness of the site, develop neighborhood life and improve the spatial qualities of the city for the current and future population, which is expected to increase by 15% by 2030.
Create places for meetings and exchanges in order to revitalize the neighborhood life. Through the rehabilitation of gardens and gardening spaces dedicated to local producers, as well as the creation of a weekly market.
Create a green belt which benefits local residents as well as neighboring municipalities, open to the public the parks of the old
quarries and rehabilitating wasteland located along the RER (train) tracks, linking the city to Paris and other suburbs.
Create a multipurpose room dedicated to the organization of various cultural and sports events, considering the high demand in town.
Connect at different scales to solve the traffic issues, facilitate access to public transportation and link the different major city entities. Connect by creating a new pedestrian paths as well as a new network of cycle paths, and complementing the regional network currently under development.
